Blockchain technology and digital asset adoption associations merge

The merged company, which will be called GBBC Digital Finance, will be based in the UK and have teams in the EMEA and APAC regions.

The Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) and Global Digital Finance (GDF) - the main industry associations for blockchain technology and digital asset adoption - will merge to create a single association with nearly 500 institutional members.

  • The new group will be called GBBC Digital Finance and will be the world's largest industry association for blockchain technology and digital assets, according to the announcement.
  • GBBC Digital Finance will be based in the U.K. and have teams in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC).
  • The goal of the merger is to promote the adoption of cryptocurrencies and digital assets by institutional entities by aligning GDF's efforts with GBBC's advocacy efforts for blockchain technology.
