Merchants using the Shopify e-commerce platform now have access to Crypto.com as another way to accept payments in cryptocurrencies.
- Sellers using the Crypto.com Pay feature can allow their customers to settle their accounts with over 20 tokens, according to a statement.
- Strike, the payments network led by Jack Mallers, announced in April that it would integrate Bitcoin Lightning payments with Shopify. Merchants can also accept cryptocurrencies with Coinbase Commerce and BitPay, according to Shopify's website.
- "Our growing blockchain ecosystem demonstrates our commitment to supporting merchants with alternative payment methods on their storefronts and helping to further expand commerce options," said John Lee, head of the blockchain ecosystem at Shopify.
- As a bonus, Shopify merchants using Crypto.com Pay will pay no processing fees for one month.
- Shares of Ottawa-based Shopify were up more than 11% in NYSE trading at 15:28 UTC.
