When questioned about blockchain, Cathie didn’t hold back her opinion on disgraced former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried’s gross negligence or outright fraud but shifted the conversation to what’s next. In Cathie’s view, the more important takeaway from the unfortunate FTX situation is transparency is a necessity in financial matters. The collapse of 2008 was filled with closed-door financials, where no one knew what was going on outside. The same situation has been repeated with the epic collapse of FTX. Cathie believes this will be a wake-up call for regulators, who deserve some blame for all of the people who have unfortunately lost billions of dollars.
