As a guest on Crypto Banter, Kevin O’Leary discussed the macroeconomic landscape and Bitcoin. The Labor Department reported that U.S. consumer prices in September slowed from the prior month which caused the markets to turn down immediately, but then they slightly recovered after the Biden administration stated their calculations had inflation closer to 2%. The consensus of many pundits, analysts, and economists is that this market cycle has very conflicting information and O’Leary confirmed that the consensus was his experience as well. Kevin shared that he has 54 different businesses in his portfolio. On one hand, he sees no slowdown in consumer demand, but on the other hand, he can’t hire anyone for a reasonable cost. Kevin also expressed that yes, he understands trillions of dollars are sitting on the sideline because of the money printer, but he sees inflation more from the supply chain issue. In regards to the crypto markets, Bitcoin is currently down 3.4% in the past 24 hours, as it trades for $19,188.04. While Bitcoin is trading down in dollars, that’s not the full story as it relates to other currencies that are weakening, like the South African Rand, where it's actually trading up. And O’Leary believes Bitcoin will trade up even more in terms of dollars if the newly proposed stablecoin bill passes US regulation
