For your information, you can find below the description of the video FTX Collapse Is Distracting You From What's Really Happening | Raoul Pal published by the Youtube channel Only The SAVVY:
The FTX collapse along with the upcoming contagion has surpassed the crypto community and is a mainstream story, as Hollywood and the streaming platforms, such as Hulu, Netflix, and Apple are all vying for the rights to tell what seems like a fictional financial thriller made-up of scripted characters, despite us knowing that unfortunately, it's all very real and billions of dollars were stolen, in real life. But aside from the made-for-TV storyline, what we have at the moment is Bitcoin sitting at $16,500 at the time of writing, and Ethereum trading for $1,187.46, both down about 1% in the past 7 days showing some stability. Macro analyst Raoul Pal, in an interview with Tom Bilyeu of Impact Theory, gave his thoughts on the FTX collapse. Raoul gave a very optimistic view, stating that not much has changed despite the media spectacle of Sam Bankman-Fried and FTX. Raoul stated that the real issue is liquidity, which was a problem before the FTX collapse. Raoul gave the analogy that if you have 5 dollars, and there are 10 people wanting $1. Well, you’ll have a problem and 5 people will away empty. And this was the issue from a macro perspective in June. Yes, FTX’s collapse didn’t help at all but Raoul’s belief is that, at the end of the day, if you do not use leverage, buy at opportunities when the market is low, hold for the long term, avoid the noise, you will come out on top.
Raoul Pal is the CEO and co-founder of Real Vision and CEO and publisher of The Global Macro Investor. He was co-manager of the GLG global macro hedge fund in London. In 2004, he retired from fund management and started The Global Macro Investor in January 2005. He was one of a relatively small number of investors to predict the mortgage crisis of 2008–2009. He was co-head of hedge fund sales in equities and equity derivatives at Goldman Sacks in Europe, based in London.
