For your information, you can find below the description of the video "The Real Big Problem No One Is Speaking About with FTX" | Chamath Palihapitiya published by the Youtube channel Only The SAVVY:
In the SBF/FTX saga, there isn’t a shortage of finger-pointing going around. In his most recent interview, Sam Bankman-Fried denied KNOWINGLY engaging in any fraudulent activity, suggesting that he was ignorant of what was going on with Alameda Research, doesn’t know code, and basically knows nothing. Most pundits and talking heads are pointing fingers at the regulators, who they believe completely dropped the ball as regulators have been reactive to crypto instead of proactive and their lack of oversight has provided a ripe environment for fraudsters, hackers, and bad actors to take full advantage, similar to the years in the financial markets before the creation of the SEC. But investor Chamath Palihapitiya believes the root of the problems is the media and the undertone of privilege within our society. In his All-In Podcast, Chamath gave an emphatic take on what he sees as the problem, which is the media’s inability to backtrack and change the narrative when they know they’ve been wrong. In Chamath’s view, this isn’t just an SBF phenomenon, but it’s a systematic issue that in his estimation, will create more SBF-type opportunities in the future.
Chamath Palihapitiya is a Sri Lankan-born Canadian and American venture capitalist, engineer, SPAC sponsor, founder and CEO of Social Capital. Palihapitiya was an early senior executive at Facebook, working at the company from 2007 to 2011. Following his departure from Facebook, Palihapitiya started his fund, The Social+Capital Partnership, through which he invested in several companies, including Yammer and Slack. He is a co-host of technology podcast All In. Chamath has an estimated net worth of around US$1.2 billion, ranking him 2,378th in the Forbes list of Billionaires 2021.
