Bitcoin experienced a slight dip after the Federal Reserve announced another increase in interest rates by 75 basis points. In an interview with Pacific Bitcoin, macro analysts Lyn Alden gave her outlook on what she saw coming with Bitcoin as it relates to the Federal Reserve’s moves. As aspected, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates by another 75 basis points. Inflation is at a four-decade high, with mixed economic markers, the Federal Reserve reiterated its objective to reach 2% inflation again. In a statement, the Fed proclaimed;
"Inflation remains elevated, reflecting supply and demand imbalances related to the pandemic, higher food and energy prices, and broader price pressures,"
"We are strongly committed to returning inflation to its 2% objective."
Upon the news, Bitcoin dipped slightly to $20,331.51, down 1% in the past 24 hours.
While the Feds rate hike and sentiment might slightly affect Bitcoin, Lyn Alden believes that Bitcoin shows a greater correlation to the global M2 money supply… and this correlation will have a greater effect on the price than any other marker.
